The purpose of the Art & Soul Teacher Training is to prepare participants to lead and facilitate expressive arts processes for individuals and groups. The training will ground the participants in the principles, methods and practices of using the arts as vehicles for authentic expression, personal healing and spiritual unfolding. The intention of the training is to empower the participants to embody the qualities that create a safe and inspiring space for all levels of material to be brought forth and expressed. The training will be experiential, and will include practice groups along the way to apply the teachings and develop confidence in working with people and materials.

What you will learn/experience/practice:

  • The ecology of a safe and inspiring environment.
  • The value of multi-modal access to levels of consciousness and expression: visual, auditory, kinesthetic.
  • The qualities of effective space-holding: grounding, awareness, presence, connection, non-judgment, compassion, inner authority.
  • The art of getting out of the way.
  • The art of facilitating: listening, receiving, being with, silence, holding, asking questions, responding.
  • The art of connecting with wholeness, while addressing brokenness. Working with group process.
  • Working with group process.
  • Trusting your instincts and intuition.
  • Trusting the process.
  • Designing and implementing a class, workshop, or program using your unique interests, gifts, and skills.
