Artmaking and Intuitive Play

There is intelligence deep in the organism that responds to having a brush in the hand, fingers in wet clay, colors before the eyes. Listening and receiving are as important to the creative process as shaping and directing. A remarkable and revelatory relationship develops between you and your work of art. You move, it speaks. Out pour memories, feelings, thoughts and images. Guided meditation, movement and sound, individual and group discussions support this process of exploration and discovery.

In this class you will:

• Practice the art of play and playing.
• Create things in two and three dimensions using paint, clay, objects, words, paper, and more.
• Experience your inner world through guided meditation and visualizations.
• Develop your intuition.
• Use the discipline of non-judgmental awareness to reflect on your own and other's artwork.
• Be supported in working through fears and doubts regarding your creative process.
